Valve: “PS3 is incredibly important to us”

Valve’s Erik Johnson has said the firm is looking to make amends with PS3 users after it failed to support previous releases on the console, and after a rocky start to a relationship with PS3, Valve has deemed the console “incredibly important” to the developer.

danm you beat me to it lol finally sony is getting some credit from valve... now if valve only ports Left 4 dead 1 & 2 on a single blu-ray disc it will make this gen and show all 360 fanboys the power of blu ray lol

So we've gone from "a waste of everones time" to "incredibly important". I bet they feel really stupid for bashing the PS3 with such pathetic reasons.

I think it was more the fact that they couldnt be arsed learning how to develop for the PS3 when they could just make games on the 360 which is basically a dumbed down PC. And they have been working PC on for years so its much less effort.

The funny thing is, while the 360 hardware is a lot more like the PC's than the PS3's is, the PS3 happens to be a lot more like a PC. It has a web browser, mods for certain games, used to have an optional Linux OS, and now has Steamworks.

I'm just saying that in general, the PS3 overall is more like a home computer than a 360.

Yeah i agree, the browser is really crap though. They need to get Firefox on that biatch. Everything else is beastly though, it really does do everything.

It's great news for PS3 owners out there, i'd like to see them port Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 onto PS3.

I think if valve were to port the left 4 dead games to PS3 then they would wait till they had released all downloadable content for it that way they can put it all on just a single disc
